Women’s Golf SEC Championship Day 1 Results PDF The Southeastern Conference Championship is being held for the ninth year in a row at Greystone Golf and Country Club in the Birmingham metro region. Since 2013, Greystone has hosted the SEC’s annual championship (Founder’s Course 2013-14, 2015-21).
For the fourth consecutive year in 2022, the competition will feature both stroke and match play, with match play taking place on Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17. The first three days of the competition will include three rounds of stroke play. For the first time in 2018, the final round was shown live on the SEC Network, and it will be aired to a national audience again in 2022.
Last season, Auburn swept Mississippi State 5-0-0 in the match play final to win the program’s 10th conference title and the first under head coach Melissa Luellen. Megan Schofill and Kaleigh Telfer were the first to win their matches, both by a score of one. At 18, Telfer broke the tie and secured the victory with a birdie putt, while Schofill took the lead on 13 and never looked back.
Then it came down to who would win their match first, with Brooke Sansom, Mychael O’Berry, and Elena Hualde Zuniga all leading on the final three holes. Zuniga, the team’s only fifth-year senior, clinched a 3&2 victory with a birdie on the 16th hole. The party began immediately after that.
When the match ended, all five players had either won or finished ahead.
